So, for all of us who have heard how great some of HBO's programing has been, but not had HBO, now is a great time to check them out on basic-cable. The Sopranos, as well advertised, is now on A & E, and while I didn't really get into the Sopranos the first time I saw them years back, I've since changed my ways and now am seeing how it's one of the best things to be on on TV. On BET, is The Wire, an equally great show, and deserving of all of it's acclaim. If you're wondering why these shows took so long to get to us basic cable types, it probably has something to do with licensing...and it probably does take nearly a decade to bleep out all of those f-words. With The Wire, especially, make sure not to miss an episode. It's greatness lies in its long character arcs.
